ATHENS

Athena was the goddess of courage, law, wisdom and justice. Athena was considered the protector and supporter of various cities throughout Greece, especially the city of Athens, from which she received her name. Her temples were usually located on the fortified Acropolis in the central part of the city. The Parthenon of the Athenian Acropolis is dedicated to her, along with many other temples and monuments.

A skilled warrior and strategist, a warrior goddess, Athena stood out for her wisdom and strategy. He led the soldiers into battle, having logic and tactical methods that most other Gods lacked. The main festival dedicated to the goddess Athena was the Panathenaia, which was celebrated during the summer in Athens and was the most important festival in the Athenian calendar.

In ancient art, Athena is usually shown wearing a helmet and holding a spear.
